1. Edistää Preschool, Matunga
A presentation was made by Ayaan and Youg about ShareMeds – its aims, objectives, and how it has changed the lives of many people. It was made to an audience of approximately 50 parents at Edistaa preschool. Over the course of the week, 250 – 300 strips of tablets were collected from parents at the school.
2. Dosti Acres, Wadala
We conducted a drive at the complex and collected a lot of medicines, and afterwards, we left a collection box at the complex for people to put medicines in. Ayaan and Youg are holding the box (with about 500 tablets/syrups) in the image below –
3. Maker Kundan Gardens, Santacruz
A drive was conducted in Maker Kundan Gardens on July 19 and 20. Posters were used before the drive to spread awareness and elaborate upon ShareMeds’ aims and objectives. During the drives, drop boxes were placed in buildings A, B, D, F, and G to collect medicines. Over 250 strips of tablets and approximately 10 – 15 syrup bottles were collected. We thank the people of Maker Kundan Gardens for their meaningful contributions!
4. Jain Upashray, Ghatkopar
The Jain Upashray is a massive event where thousands of devout Jains gather for sermons by priests and a celebration of their religion. We were able to have a stand set up at the location so as to inform people about our initiative and collect medicines. We ended up collecting over 2,000 medications, our biggest drive yet at the time! We thank the residents of Ghatkopar and the attendees of the Upashray for their donations!
5. V Sahiyar and PKB Mahila Mandal Drive
V Sahiyar and PKB Mahila Mandal are two groups for girls and women in which get-togethers and events are organized for members to show their talent in various fields, like dance and music. They act as a great support group for all of their members while also acting as a great source of entertainment and recreation. The members of the groups share similar concerns as ShareMeds about the wastage of medicines that occurs today. They wanted to do something towards the cause, and hence our team approached them. The chairpersons of the groups, Mrs. Falguni Dave and Mrs. Kavita Parekh respectively, informed the groups about ShareMeds and its ideals. Almost every member of both groups was able to donate some medicines to us, amounting to a total of around 1000 strips of tablets. We cannot thank them enough for their contribution!
Thank you!
