The ShareMeds Foundation

Trying to make the world a happier and healthier place, Donating health and wellness through free medicines since 2017

Our Mission is to recycle medicines, thereby reducing the medical waste and at the same time reducing the medical costs incurred by the under privileged community

We often are left over with surplus medicines. Many a times, we do not consume all the medicines from a bottle or a strip and then are faced with a dilemma as to what to do with them. On the other hand there are several people who are in need of such expensive medicines in the course of their treatment, but cant afford to buy these.

ShareMeds was brainchild of three young boys: Urjil, Youg and Haard. They understood the dilemma faced by those who had surplus medicines as well as those who are medicine deficit. They devised a technique to bridge the gap —- they would collect surplus and donate to the deficit areas.

Our Mission

  • To bridge the gap between surplus community and deficit community
  • To ensure that surplus medicine is utilised in the correct manner
  • To ensure that the underprivilege community is not devoid of proper medical care.
  • To reduce medical waste

Our Story

How We Got Started

” In year 2016, our beloved grandfather was detected with cancer. He fought valiantly with support, love and care of family; but his body gave up and the soul moved out of his temporary abode in 2017. We were left over with a lot of medicines and instruments like BP monitor, Bipap machine, Oxygen cylinders, water bed, Glucose monitor and oximeters. We looked around for outlets to donate these and were successful. But it made it realize that there are many others facing the same predicament and we need to do something to help them as well. Thus ShareMeds was born.” – YOUG – URJIL – HAARD SANGHVI

Where We Are Now

It took us a while to spread the word and once we started there was no looking back. Donations in the form of medicine started pouring in. Our family has been involved in NGOs for a long time, hence it was not too difficult for us to find outlets to donate these medicines. Surplus medicines from all over India are sent to us via courier.

NEXT IN PIPELINE

Our next Goal is to create a Medicine bank, so that whoever comes to us with a requirement, we should be able to fulfill it.

More like a “COMMUNITY PHARMACY” which is free of cost. Once can just walk in and take back whatever they want.
